LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The West Alabama Tigers (3-7-3, 2-5-3) gear up for Senior Day as they welcome the top-seeded West Florida Argonauts (10-1-3, 8-0-2) for an intense matchup at home this Friday, November 1st, at 5:00 pm.
This clash represents both a celebration and a challenge, as the Tigers aim to honor their seniors and build on recent performances against formidable opponents.
West Florida comes in with dominant stats across the board, having scored 32 goals this season and holding opponents to only eight, averaging a stellar 2.29 goals per game. The Argonauts' defense also remains a stronghold with 130 shots on target, supported by 32 saves from their goalkeepers, keeping opposing offenses at bay. After Senior Day on Friday, West Alabama will wrap up the 2024 regular season on Sunday with a 1:00 p.m. matchup against Spring Hill. The Badgers come into this weekend's matchup ninth in the GSC with a 6-7-5 overall record and a 3-5-2 record in conference play. The Badgers have scored 20 goals this season, while allowing 22 and are led by their starting forward, Poppy Binding. Binding sits second in the GSC in goals with seven along with three assists, propelling the redshirt senior to 17 points this season which also ranks second in the GSC.
Friday's Senior Day matchup against West Florida is set for 5:00 p.m. at the UWA Track and Soccer Complex while Sunday's contest against Spring Hill is slated for 1:00 p.m. in Mobile, Alabama.
