ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The No. 8 University of West Alabama women's tennis team got the best of No. 2 Nova Southeastern University in doubles, but the Sharks answered in singles to take the Tuesday afternoon match, 4-1, from Sanlando Park.
UWA moves to 8-7 on the season, while NSU goes to 13-2.

Lolita Hukasian also had a ranked opponent, as No. 40 Lian Benedejcic and Lexi Weir put the Sharks on the board first with a 6-2 win at the No. 3 flight.
NSU took victories at the No. 3, 4 and 5 singles spots to seal the match. Vidnere went into a tiebreak with Sofia Shing in the second set, but fell, 6-2, 7-6 (4).
Iglupas picked up the lone win via retirement for UWA.
Before the match was halted, Rivera forced a third set with a 8-6 tiebreak win in the second.
The Tigers return to the courts on Friday with No. 44 Valdosta State in Pensacola, Florida.
