WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The University of West Alabama men's tennis team was defeated by No. 4 Rollins College, 4-1, Wednesday afternoon.
West Alabama drops to 4-8 on the year, while Rollins moves up to 14-1.
The Tars dominated in doubles play, defeating the Tigers in both the No. 2 and No. 3 flights.
Wilson Igbinovia shined in singles play, taking both sets of the No. 2 flight by identical 6-1 scores to get UWA on the board and even the match up at a point apiece.
From there, Rollins took control, winning the next three points to clinch the match. No. 23 Efe Comu took the upper hand over No. 52 Lucas Hammond in the No. 1 singles flight, 6-3, 6-4.
The Tigers will travel to Pensacola, Florida on Friday to take on No. 2 Valdosta State to wrap up its spring break trip. The first serve is set for 2 p.m.
