LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama women's soccer team will play its first Gulf South Conference road match of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 24, when the Tigers travel to face Montevallo at 7 p.m.

The Tigers have been steady defensively, allowing just two goals through six matches, and are led in goal by Yumari Hernandez, who boasts a 0.33 goals-against average with 21 saves and five shutouts already this season. Offensively, Selis Demirci and Bailee Fairley lead the team with two goals apiece, while Aileen Charles has added a goal and an assist.

Montevallo (3-2-0, 2-0-0 GSC) has started conference play strong, securing wins in both of its opening matches. The Falcons are averaging 1.4 goals per match, led by Morgan Goehring with three goals and two assists. In net, Montevallo has relied on a trio of goalkeepers, with Ciara Duff earning two clean sheets in her appearances.
