LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Rodeo program concluded the UWA Rodeo Showdown on Championship Saturday.

West Alabama's Men's team finished second with 565 points while the Tigers' Women's team came in fifth with 115 points.

MEN'S TEAM
UWA had six representatives competing on Championship Saturday, with Tanner Brown, Tyler Lovering, Sam McBride, Kota Wilhite, and Stone Reeves in the Tie Down Roping while Teigan Orr and McBride competed for the Steer Wrestling championship. 

In the Tie Down Roping, West Alabama's five competitors combined for 225 points with McBride leading the way with a team-high 70 points. Reeves followed suit with 60 points while Wilhite recorded 50 points and Lovering finished with 45.

In the Steer Wrestling, Orr finished third individually with 90 points while McBride accumulated 10 points. 

To round out UWA, McBride and Reeves teamed up in the Team Roping and won the event with 140 points and a 14.7 aggregate.

WOMEN'S TEAM
On the Women's side, four Tigers advanced to Championship night as Darby Toole competed in the Breakaway Roping, Meah Pinter in the Goat Tying, Millie Joe Rosenberg, and Morgan Ward in Team Roping. 

All four of West Alabama's representatives competed well and recorded a significant amount of points. Rosenberg stood out in the Barrel Racing event as the senior finished second with 120 points. Similar to Rosenberg, Pinter recorded a second place finish with 115 points in the Goat Tying event. Ward teamed up with Southern Arkansas' Matthew Maben in the Team Roping and registered 90 points which was good enough for a fourth place finish. 

To conclude the Tigers' score, Toole recorded 40 points in the Breakaway Roping event.

West Alabama will be off next weekend and will return to action on October 9 for Southern Arkansas' Home Rodeo in Magnolia, Arkansas.
