FLORENCE, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's and Women's Cross Country teams wrapped up the UNA Invitational on Friday morning on the campus of North Alabama.
The West Alabama Men took home sixth place while the Tigers' Women's squad finished ninth.
In the Men's 8k event, UWA had three athletes finish in the top-30, with Lorenzo Pelusi leading the way with a 25:58.55 time. Pelusi's time resulted into a 18th place finish while Mathis Breton crossed the line 11 seconds later at 26:09.26 which was good enough for a 20th place finish. To round out the top-30, Jentzen Moore clocked in a time of 26:29.27, becoming the 30th participant to cross the finish line. Outside of the top-30,Â
For the Women's 5k race, Mercy Lomuria just missed a top-10 finish as the sophomore crossed the line in 18:57.72. Lomuria led UWA with a 12th place finish while Miriam Dominguez-Tellez was the next Tiger to finish with a time of 20:15.04. To round out West Alabama,Â
West Alabama will be back in action next weekend at the Falcon Classic in Montevallo, Alabama.
