Box Score 2 CLEVELAND, Miss. - The University of West Alabama Women's Tennis team defeated Delta State, 4-3, while UWA's Men's team fell, 4-3, to the Statesmen.
West Alabama's fourth ranked Women's Team (17-4, 5-2 GSC) earned their 17th victory of the year while UWA's 16th ranked Men's team falls to 13-6.

The Tigers defeated the Statesmen in doubles to begin the match.
Shaira Rivera and
Alexa Milliam remain dominant on Line One as the duo secured a 6-4 win. On Line Two,
Valentina Mutilba/
Nanoka Kazama registered a 6-1 win to clinch the doubles point.
In singles action, Milliam occupied Line One and put together one of her best performances of the year. The sophomore defeated Delta State's Amelia Ciesielczyk, (6-2, 6-0). Mutilba and
Jian Ibrahim also secured wins in straight sets with Mutilba winning, (6-1, 6-1) while Ibrahim took home a, (6-4, 6-2) victory.
Ibrahim's win on Line Three clinched the match for the Tigers, 4-3.
MEN'S TENNIS: DSU 4, No. 16 UWA 3
West Alabama got out to a great start, winning the doubles points with victories coming on Lines One and Two from
Jacob Tapia/
Federico Iturbe and
Afonso Portugal/
Maksim Goncharov.
In singles action, UWA dropped four of the six matches which propelled DSU to their win.
Tapia and Portugal picked up victories on Lines One and Two before Delta State earned wins on Lines Three-Six. Tapia earned a (6-3, 6-3) decision while Portugal won in three sets, (6-1, 1-6, 6-2).
