MIAMI, Fla. - The University of West Alabama Women's Tennis Team's 2026 season came to a close after a 4-1 loss to No. 4 Mississippi College on Friday in the NCAA Tournament.
West Alabama ends their campaign with a 19-6 overall record while Mississippi College (24-1) moves on to play Barry in the South Region Two finals.
The Tigers dropped the doubles point to begin the match despite Shaira Rivera and Alexa Milliam defeating the Choctaws' Emily Buchanan and Ann Cabot Stockett, 6-4, on Line One.
In singles play, MC took three of the first four matches to clinch the contest. Valentina Mutilba secured the lone point of the match for UWA as the junior defeated Katharina Weber, (6-0, 7-6).
West Alabama is slated to return majority of their roster in 2026-27 as they look to ascend the program.
