Bassmaster College National Championship Recap: Leech Lake Tournament

Walker, Minn. - The Bassmaster College National Championship returned to the north and the picturesque waters of Leech Lake, attracting some of the best collegiate anglers with 135 boats competing from across the country. 

This event marked the first tournament of the new year and officially kicked off the 2026–2027 season.

How They Qualified

UWA earned its spot in the national championship following a strong showing at the Bassmaster College Series event on the James River in Richmond, Virginia. Phillip Herring and Parker O'Bryan finished second with a two-day total of 37 pounds, 4 ounces, while Daylon Milam and James Dubose finished fifth with 34 pounds, 6 ounces.
