LIVINGSTON, Ala. – University of West Alabama women's soccer returns to the road Wednesday, traveling to Cleveland, Tennessee, for a Gulf South Conference matchup against Lee University at 5 p.m.
The Tigers enter the contest with a 1-3-0 overall record and 0-1-0 mark in GSC play after falling 1-0 to UAH in their conference opener last Friday.
Tigers' Offense
West Alabama has scored two goals through its first four matches, recording 40 shots and 19 shots on goal.
Allie Kimbrell leads the Tigers with two points on one goal, while Campbell Wysong also recorded one goal before suffering a season-ending injury. Kimbrell has taken two shots through four matches, putting one on target.
Kya Jacobs has provided a consistent offensive presence, leading the Tigers with 12 shots and seven shots on goal. Sofia Lacey has added six shots, while Mikaela Carpino has four shots and two shots on goal.
As a team, UWA has put 47.5 percent of its shots on target.
Defensive Stand
Yumari Hernandez has started all four matches in goal for the Tigers, playing all 360 minutes. Hernandez has recorded 26 saves and owns a .813 save percentage with a 1.50 goals-against average.
Hernandez has also helped UWA record one shutout on the season.
The Tigers have allowed six goals through four matches, with opponents recording 67 shots and 32 shots on goal.
Scouting Lee
Lee enters Wednesday's matchup ranked No. 9 nationally with a 3-0-1 overall record and a 1-0-0 mark in GSC play. The Flames have scored seven goals while allowing just three through four matches.
Megan Davis leads the Lee attack with four points on two goals, while Audrey O'Meara and Aubrey Benfield have each recorded three points. Sydney Clements and Emma Nelson have also contributed two points apiece.
The Flames have recorded 53 shots and 28 shots on goal, with Davis leading the team in shots on goal with four. Lee has put 52.8 percent of its shots on target.
Abby Whitcomb has started all four matches in goal for Lee, posting a 0.75 goals-against average and .727 save percentage. Whitcomb has made eight saves while helping the Flames record three wins and a tie.
Series History
Wednesday marks another meeting between the Tigers and Flames, with Lee holding a 12-0 advantage in the all-time series.
The Flames won last year's matchup 2-1 in Livingston.
West Alabama will continue GSC play Wednesday, September 16, traveling to Cleveland, Tennessee, to take on No. 9 Lee University. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
