VALDOSTA, Ga. – The University of West Alabama women's soccer team fell 1-0 on the road to Valdosta State Saturday afternoon in Gulf South Conference action.

The Blazers (4-1-1, 3-0-0 GSC) scored early, finding the back of the net in the second minute to take a 1-0 advantage that would ultimately stand for the remainder of the match.

Sarah Hudson scored the game-winning goal for Valdosta State off an assist from Ella Scerbo. The goal extended Hudson's scoring streak to four consecutive matches.

West Alabama (1-5-0, 0-3-0 GSC) was unable to find an equalizer as Valdosta State goalkeeper Adrienne Cardona-Colon completed the match with a clean sheet. Tigers goalkeeper Yumari Hernandez had four saves at the half.

The loss moves the Tigers to 0-3 in GSC play as they continue through their conference schedule.

West Alabama returns home Wednesday, September 23, for another GSC matchup, hosting Delta State at 5 p.m. at UWA Soccer Field.
