Lucas Brown

Lucas Brown is in his fifth season as assistant coach for the University of West Alabama Rodeo program. Joining in August 2019, Brown will assist in the operation of both the men’s and women’s programs.

In his time on the staff, he has seen two individual champions and was on the coaching staff of the 2023 College National Rodeo Finals national championship team. 
 
Brown served as a graduate assistant coach for the Tiger Wranglers in the Fall of 2018 after competing four years as a steer wrestler, as well as a calf and team roper, where he was a top-four finisher in the Ozark Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association in 2017. He was also the South Texas Tour Team Roping Champion Heeler in 2015.

He was a two-time Southeastern Professional Rodeo Association finals qualifier in tie down roping.

Originally from Cleveland, Tennessee, Brown was a multi-champion at the Georgia High School State Rodeo Association (GHSRA), including winning the All-Around in 2012 with his Tie Down and Team Roping victories. He added a Team Roping title in 2013 and a Tie Down crown in 2014. 
 
Brown has also served as ranch manager for Ruzic Farms in Belmont, Alabama and LL77 Land & Cattle in Livingston. He has also worked as a sales representative for Slone Saddle Company in Cuero, Texas and as a roping coach in his hometown during college summer breaks.
 
He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from West Alabama in December 2018.
