A member of the University of West Alabama Athletic Hall of Fame, Janet Montgomery serves as Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator at UWA. She began her career as the head softball and volleyball coach in August 1988.
In April 2009, Montgomery was promoted to her current position at UWA after serving as Assistant Athletic Director for two years. Montgomery is the longest tenured SWA in the Gulf South Conference. She serves as the Tiger sport administrator for volleyball, women's basketball, women's tennis, men's tennis and assists with football.
Montgomery has served on numerous NCAA Division II Committees; most recently, as committee chair for the Division II Championship Committee, South Region representative on the Softball Committee, a member of the Coaching Enhancement Grant Selection Committee, on the Playing Rules Oversight Panel and currently serves on the NCAA Division II Management Council and Minority Opportunities and Interest Committee.
Montgomery, recently selected for the West Bend High School Wall of Fame, lives in Livingston. Husband, Brad, is retired from UWA after more than 30 years as Head Athletic Trainer for UWA and now is an athletic trainer at Samford University. The couple has two grown children, Brock, an employee of Wade Heating & Air, Inc. and Jade , a pharmacy student at Samford University. Janet shares any down time with Milo the Wonder Cat.
