LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama women's basketball team will open the 2010-11 season with a home contest against NCAA South Region foe Barry University from the Sunshine State Conference. The game is set to tip-off at 2 p.m. at Pruitt Hall.

The Tigers enter the campaign under the direction of Head Coach Craig Roden who is beginning his second go-around in Livingston.

If he is to have immediate success this year, he will need preseason all-conference honoree Latashia Greer to produce similar numbers to those she put up last season. She racked up six double-doubles and reached double figures in scoring in 15 of 19 games as she averaged 17.4 points and 7.5 rebounds.

An NCAA tournament participant a year ago, the Buccaneers present a quick test for the Red and White. While Barry graduated 2009-10 Daktronics South Region Player of the Year Mariesa Greene, the team returns several key contributors from last season.
