LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Continuing its five-game road trip, the University of West Alabama women's basketball team will travel to Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn. on Saturday. The contest against the Lady Buccaneers is slated for 2 p.m.
The Tigers enter the contest with a 5-2 record, as the team snapped a two-game slide by defeating Georgia Southwestern its last time out thanks to late heroics from
Keiara Middleton and a strong performance from two-time reigning conference player of the week Mystee Dale.
Dale currently leads the Red and White in nearly every offensive category as she is tops in scoring, scoring average, field goals made, free throws made and free throw percentage, while she is second on the squad in field goal percentage and 3-point field goals made.
The transfer from Marshall will be looking to help guide her team to a first-ever win in Memphis as UWA has lost in its two prior tips to CBU. The all-time series is tilted in favor of the Tigers at 7-4, but the Lady Bucs took the last meeting – a 59-58 decision that required two overtimes in Livingston a year ago.
Leading the Christian Brothers side is Sheena DeBose who is averaging 16.1 points per game while registering a .500 success rate from the field. She has been the Lady Bucs leading scorer in four of the team's eight contests.
The game will be broadcasted on ESPN 104.9 and a stream will be available on www.espn1049.com.
