Tigers Prepared To Host Montevallo

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Wrapping up a quick three-game home stand, the University of West Alabama women's basketball team will host Montevallo on Monday afternoon in a non-conference tilt. UWA enters the 2 p.m. contest with a 10-2 mark on the season while the Falcons own a 4-5 record.

Following a pair of home victories against Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist, the Tigers are now riding a six-game winning streak - the longest string of victories since the 2003-04 squad also won six in a row.

While Mystee Dale continues to lead the Tigers, the squad has seen other players put together solid performances of late.

Latashia Greer posted her second double-double of the season in Friday's victory over OBU as she recorded 20 points and 10 rebounds, and she is averaging more than 16 points per contest over UWA's past three games. Her 12.7 season scoring average makes her the only other Tiger to join Dale in double-figures.

Also steady recently, LaShandra McCoy has used a pair of 19-point performances to average more than 14 points in the Red and White's last four contests.

Montevallo will be playing its first game since a Dec. 18 setback against Lincoln Memorial. The Falcons have played two Gulf South Conference institutions this season, dropping a 62-55 decision to West Georgia while also falling 55-41 to West Florida.

Carrie Parrott leads UM in both scoring and rebounding with averages of 10.6 and 5.7, respectively.
