Tigers Set for Showdown with UAH Tuesday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama volleyball team (16-8, 4-3 GSC) returns to conference action Tuesday, entertaining the University of Alabama at Huntsville at Pruitt Hall. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.

Tuesday's contest will be the second of the season between these two squads, with the first meeting being a thrilling 3-2 triumph for the Tigers on Sept. 27. In that match, UWA came storming back in the final set to take a 21-19 in the match-clinching game.

The Tigers come into Tuesday's affair after going 3-1 last week with an impressive showing at the West Georgia Crossover. After defeating Florida Tech on Friday, the Red and White split two matches against Rollins and Barry.

UWA is led by senior Angela Sanders who has a team-high 258 kills this season. Teammate Chanel Davis has also had a strong year, leading the team in blocks with 65 total to go along with her team-leading .342 hitting percentage.

UAH is 7-17 overall and 2-5 in the GSC. The Chargers are led by Jessica Ruple who has 245 kills on the season.

Following Tuesday's contest, the Tigers head to Georgia to take on West Georgia and Valdosta State in a pair of weekend contests.
