The Red and White attempted a go-ahead late in the first quarter, but the score was denied as UWG's Donovan Jackson picked off a Caldwell pass at the Wolves' five yard line. The Red and Blue drove 71 yards on 14 plays to regain the lead at 10-7 on a 43 yard field goal. UWG expanded its margin right before the half as Brackett hit his second field goal of the evening – this time from 31 yards out – to put the homestanding Wolves up 13-7 at the intermission.

UWA opened the second half with a dominating drive to take back the lead in back and forth affair. The Red and White strung together a 10-play, 64 yard drive as Willis scored his second TD of the game – this time from one yard out. The lead, however, was short lived as UWG answered with a 35 yard, Brackett field goal on the Red and Blue's first drive of the second half.

The Tigers countered with an eight-play, 78 yard drive to take back the lead in the contest as UWA scored its third, rushing TD of the game – this time Kyle Caldwell scampering in from eight yards out to lift the Red and White back in front 21-16. UWA added a late score to insure the double digit win following the Wolves' score as the Tigers ran the clock down to six seconds and on fourth down and one Caldwell connected with May for the second TD for the duo on the game.
