Tiger Volleyball Welcomes UNA in Tuesday Night Conference Tilt

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – On a current four-match win streak, the University of West Alabama volleyball team (19-8, 7-3 GSC) is set to entertain North Alabama Tuesday night at Pruitt Hall. Start time is slated for 7 p.m.

Head Coach Tabitha Turner's squad has been an impressive run as of late. The Tigers have won three-straight Gulf South Conference matches, and have been victorious in five out of the last six regular season contests.

“We are excited about Tuesday's match against UNA,” said Turner. “Our team had a great week last week, and I hope we can continue to build on that.”

UWA is led by senior Angela Sanders. The Katy, Texas native has a team-high 309 kills on the year with a .297 hitting percentage. This past week, Sanders totaled 51 kills including 19 in 38 total attacks for a .421 percentage in the team's 3-1 victory against West Georgia this past Friday.

Defensively, the Tigers are paced by senior Casey Byrnes. Byrnes leads the team with 369 digs, averaging 4.73 digs per set. Meanwhile, junior Chanel Davis leads the squad with 83 total blocks, including 24 block solos.

UNA enters Tuesday's match tied with West Alabama for second place in the GSC. The Lions were ousted by league-leader West Florida this past week, losing in a 3-1 contest.

Following Tuesday's contest, the Tigers face West Florida in the Breast Cancer Awareness match on Friday at 7 p.m.
