LIVINGSTON, Ala. – After splitting a pair of matches this weekend, the University of West Alabama volleyball team (13-4, 4-1 GSC) heads to Montevallo, Ala., to take on the Falcons Tuesday night. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
The Tigers enter Tuesday's encounter after dominating New Orleans Saturday, 3-0. In that match, the Privateers failed to get within 11 points in each of the three games played.
UWA is led by junior
Chanel Davis, who continues to put up strong numbers this season. Through matches played on or before Sept. 25, Davis is ranked No. 16 in the country in hitting percentage with a .405 average.
Defensively, senior libero
Casey Byrnes leads the team with 211 digs. Meanwhile, Davis holds the team lead in blocks with 48, while junior
Tazra Pitts is second on the squad with 33 blocks and 13 block solos this season.
Montevallo enters the match losing four out of its last five. The Falcons are 6-10 overall and 2-3 in conference play after losing to USC Aiken by a score of 3-1 last week.
Following Tuesday's affair, UWA travels to Christian Brothers and North Alabama this weekend.
