LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama women's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Friday, Nov. 18 as the Tigers travel to Pensacola, Fla., for a two-day, West Florida Tip-Off Classic. UWA opens against Georgia Southwestern at 4 p.m. and closes the tournament on Saturday at 4 p.m. against Montevallo.
A trio of fresh faces lead the Red and White in scoring.
Brittany Weathers paces the squad with 19.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Jamie Gunter and
Nikkia Jordan have each averaged double figures with Gunter providing 11.0 points and Jordan chiming 10.0 points per game.
Head coach Craig Roden's squad is shooting 41-percent from the floor on the season while averaging 68.3 points per game.
The Tigers, who are 1-2 on the campaign, look to rebound from a 64-63 setback against Talladega College in the home opener. Weathers led the way in the contest with a double-double of 16 points and 13 boards.
Following the two-day tournament, the Red and White continue the road swing at Miles College on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
