Tiger Volleyball Gears up for Pair of Monday Matches

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Off to an impressive 7-3 start, the University of West Alabama volleyball team heads to Arkadelphia, Ark. Monday for a pair of matches against Henderson State and Lyon.

In the squad's final test before conference play, UWA faces off with the Reddies at 3 p.m., followed by a 5 p.m. contest with Lyon.

Coach Tabitha Turner's team started this season off with a 5-0 record – the school's best start since the 2007 season. After tripping up in the Lady Patriots Classic, the Tigers returned home to pick up a dominating 3-1 victory over Birmingham-Southern on Tuesday.

In the mid-week clash with the Panthers, junior Chanel Davis broke the school record with a .750 attack percentage. Meanwhile, senior Alexis McHale has also been a strong performer for the Tigers this season, now holding the school's all-time career assist mark with 3,850 and counting in her time at UWA.

Following the trip to Arkansas on Monday, the Red and White return home to open up GSC action against West Georgia and Valdosta State this weekend. The Tigers play UWG on Friday at 7 p.m., and host Valdosta State on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Pruitt Hall.
