LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Hoping to extend its win streak to four matches, the University of West Alabama volleyball team (3-1) travels to the northern part of the state this weekend to participate in the Alabama-Huntsville Tournament.
Under the direction of interim head coach Mike Shearer, the Tigers put together a string of wins last weekend in Arkadelphia, Ark., including victories against Henderson State and Gulf South Conference foe UAH.
In search of win No. 4, the Tigers face a rematch against the Reddies on Thursday at 5 p.m. before taking on Paine College and Florida Tech on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. UWA concludes this week's tournament against Albany State Saturday at 10 a.m.
A large part of UWA's early success has been the play of freshman outside hitter
Morgan Ray. The Addison, Ala., native had 52 kills and 13 service aces on her way to being named to the all-tournament team last weekend. Joining her on that squad was senior
Chanel Davis, who registered 32 kills and four blocks.
Fans can follow the action on live stats. Live stats will only be available when UWA plays on Court 1.
