Tigers Fall to Christian Brothers 4-2 at Home

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Four different Christian Brothers players found the net to defeat West Alabama men's soccer 4-2 in Gulf South Conference play on Sunday.

With only one match remaining in the regular season, West Alabama drops to 10-5-1 overall; 7-5-1 in the GSC. The defending conference tournament champions a year ago, Christian Brothers improve to 7-8-1; 5-7-1 in conference.

Jose Ferraz put CBU on the board first with a one-on-one goal against UWA keeper Evan Pidgeon in the 8th minute.

Samuel Wilson and Diego Silva Vieira each netted their first goals of the season for the Buccaneers; Wilson in the 26th minute and Vieira in the 73rd.
 Matt Derise tallied his eighth season goal in the 67th minute that proved the game winner.

Down 2-0, UWA striker Vitor Gazza posted his seventh goal of the season with a strike to the upper left corner of the goal from 12 yards out. William Artiga netted his first goal of the year in the final two seconds of the match.

Pidgeon totaled seven saves for the Tigers, but falls to 1-1 on the year. CBU starting goalkeeper Britton McGuire improves to 3-3.

The Tigers will face the GSC leader West Florida in its final regular season match at home on Friday before heading into the conference tournament on Nov. 7 in Pensacola, Fla. The final match is set for 7:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.
