Tigers Fall in Three Sets to UNA

FLORENCE, Ala. – North Alabama's Megan Gorey posted 14 kills, the most by any West Alabama opponent in three sets, to defeat the Tigers 3-0 in Gulf South Action on Saturday.

For West Alabama (8-7, 2-5 GSC), it is the third three set loss of the season. North Alabama (4-10, 2-4) won with scores of 27-25, 25-19 and 26-24. UNA held the Tigers to .083 attack percentage, its second lowest of the season.

Gorey finished with a .163 attack percentage. Teammate Natasha Fomina finished with 11 kills.  

The Tigers were led on the attack by Carly Wehling and Jessica Voyles; each put up seven kills. Voyles ended with her second highest attack percentage of the season with .467. Wehling also tallied 18 assists.  

"We are still a young team," said UWA head volleyball coach Jordan Lay. "We just have to keep growing and getting better from our losses. Ball control and discipline have to be our focus going into West Florida."

UWA volleyball now travels to Pensacola, Fla. to take on conference opponent West Florida. The match is set for Thursday at 7 p.m.
