Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. – West Alabama men's soccer defeated the two time defending Gulf South Conference champions Christian Brothers 3-0 on Sunday.

Matthew Thorne. "We came off a disappointing result on Friday and we wanted a reaction from the players and we got one. Right from the warm up the lads were focused on the job at hand."
West Alabama (3-0-1, 1-0-1) picked up its first conference victory of the season to improve its unbeaten streak to four matches. Christian Brothers (1-3, 0-2) begins its conference schedule on a rocky start giving up a combined seven goals in its first two conference matches.
The Tiger's got on the board first in the 29' with a one touch finish by
Alex Brown on a free kick by
Thibault Charmey. Brown ended the match 1-for-1 to pick up his first goal of the season.
Clay Green also picked up his first goal of the year in the 68' on another set piece taken by Charmey. Charmey added to his two assists with a final goal in the 77' with an unassisted goal of his own. Â

Starting goalkeeper
Lavares Stone (2-0-1) recorded his second complete shutout of the year. Stone improves to 2.5 shutouts.
The Tiger's now return to the friendly confines of Tiger Stadium to host GSC foe Alabama-Huntsville on Friday. The match is set for 7 p.m.
