Issy Foster is the Gulf South Conference Women's Soccer Defender of the Week, while freshman
Chelsea Commings is the Freshman of the Week for the first time in program history.
Foster did not allow a goal in regulation through two matches against Lee University on Friday and Shorter University on Sunday. The sophomore from Telford, England compiled seven saves through 18 shots faced. She is 8-2 in the net this season, recording her third shutout against Shorter.
Commings came off the bench to tally her first-collegiate assist against the Hawks. The Gadsden, Ala. native made her presence on the pitch felt with 4-of-4 shots on-goal, keeping her perfect shot on-goal percentage for the season alive.
West Alabama women's soccer is 10-2 overall this year and, with six matches remaining in its regular season, are only one win away from totaling its most single season wins in program history. The Tigers will seek said win on the road as they travel to take on Spring Hill College in GSC action Friday at 4 p.m. in Mobile, Ala.
The road stint concludes at West Florida Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in Pensacola, Fla.
