LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama Women's Soccer team will honor its seven seniors for "Senior Day" in a battle for first place in the Gulf South Conference standings against Valdosta State Sunday.
West Alabama will enter its final regular season match ranked fifth in the NCAA Division II South Region at 13-3-1 overall and 8-2-1 in the GSC. The Tigers are currently tied with Valdosta State for first place in the conference standings, as the Blazers come in 8-1-1 and 8-5-2 overall, ranked 10th in the region.
UWA and VSU have already secured a place in the GSC tournament, but a win for either team will secure an automatic bid to the semifinal round at Brosnaham Park in Pensacola, Fla. Nov. 7. The loser could potentially host the sixth seed in the opening round on Tuesday.
The matchup will also feature seven seniors who will be playing in their final regular season match in Tiger Stadium.
