BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – West Alabama Women's Soccer featured five student-athletes to the 2014 All-Gulf South Conference Team as voted by league coaches on Monday; the most in program history. Forward

Katy Morris were named to the First Team, while
Sam Cable,
Mara DeLuca and
Kirsten Reilly earned Second Team honors.
Gears, the 2013 GSC Co-Player of the Year, is the first Tiger to earn First Team honors for the fourth time. The Ripon, England native was the GSC's fifth leading scorer with 10 goals and second league leader with eight assists. The senior is the program's leading scorer and sixth active career leader in the nation with 47 goals. She is third on the NCAA's "30 Goals and 20 Assists" list, adding 27 career assists to her goal total through 71 matches. She is second in the league with a season high of 96 shots this year, giving her an unprecedented 335 career shot total.
Morris, a Preseason All-GSC honoree, made her first appearance to the First Team list. The junior from Wigan, England totaled a season high four goals, totaling 10 in her career. She matched three other Tigers, including Gears and Reilly as the team leader with two game-winning goals. She is the squad's second leading assist leader with five, giving her 14 career.
Fellow midfielder, Reilly, made her second entrance to the Second Team list. The sophomore from Musselburgh, Scotland, tallied a season high of three goals this season. She added two assists, totaling four goals and five assists in her career.
Defender's Cable and DeLuca each garnered their first appearances to the Second Team. Cable, a senior from Las Vegas, Nev., and DeLuca, a sophomore from Birmingham, Ala., led a Tiger defense that allowed only 15 goals and 70 shots on-goal, while the UWA offense tallied 35 goals and 152 shots on-goal. DeLuca added to the attack one game-winning goal and two assists.
The Tigers ended the regular season 13-4-1 overall, totaling the most wins, highest win percentage of .750 and recording their longest win streak of nine matches. They finished fourth in the GSC regular season standings at 8-3-1 in conference action.

tth in the first round of the GSC Tournament. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.
