LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama volleyball team will open its home season against Shorter University Friday at 7 p.m. To welcome back the Tiger fans to Pruitt Hall the UWA athletic department will give away free hot dogs to the first 100 fans to the game as well as free t-shirts and other UWA volleyball gear during the match.
A $100 gift certificate to Collins Communications Radio Shack of Demopolis will also be given away to a lucky fan in attendance.
UWA's home opener after a 3-1 start in the Gulf South Conference; 3-5 overall. The Tigers come off of a thrilling 3-2 win over West Georgia on Tuesday that set them tied for third in the league. Shorter enters the match 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the GSC; tied for first.

Jessica Voyles,
Elizabeth Culhane, outside hitter
Sadie Beam and defensive specialist
Lindsey Ball.

Briana Sandifer were each named 2014 Top Newcomers to the GSC and lead a recruiting class of all seven freshman and one junior transfer.
