Box Score 2 CARROLLTON, Ga. – West Alabama volleyball fell 3-0 to Nova Southeastern and 3-0 to Lynn University in the first day of the West Georgia Crossover tournament on Friday.
Nova improves to 12-6 overall and Lynn to 10-7, while UWA drops to 7-13. The Sharks swept the first match, winning 25-22, 25-14 and 25-21. The Knights took match two 25-14, 25-22, 25-16.
NSU was led by Dana Holger with 13 kills, leading her team to .273 attack percentage.
Briana Sandifer led the Tigers, hitting .250 with 14 kills. The Tigers combined to hit .116 against Nova.
Sandifer went on to add five kills against Lynn and led the Tigers with 10 digs. She totaled 17 on the day matching
Abby Ames with seven digs in the first match.
Yanesha Johnson led with six kills in the second match.
The Knights hit .255 and held UWA to .103. Morgan Dulaney totaled 10 kills for Lynn, despite a stiff Tiger defense that out-blocked the Knights 6-2.
Jaime Lancellot led the defense with four block assists and one solo.
The tournament will continue on Saturday with West Alabama taking on the No. 2 team in the nation, Tampa. The match is set for 12:15 (C.S.T.)
