UWA Men's Soccer Fall at Montevallo in Overtime

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – A penalty kick by Montevallo's Sebastian Kraus in the 92nd minute lifted the Falcons to a 2-1 overtime victory over West Alabama in non-conference action Sunday.

Montevallo improves to 6-8-1, while West Alabama falls to 7-6-2.

After a scoreless deadlock in the first half, the Falcons got on the board first with a goal in 66th minute by Kevin Francis. Keegan McQueen became the 12th Tiger to score in 15 matches with his first goal of the season in the 80th minute to tie the game at 1-1. Ashley Phillips assisted with the goal on a place kick from 25 yards out; his second assist of the year. 

UWA led 9-7 in shots with AJ Williams finishing 2-for-2 shots on-goal. Francis led UM with 1-of-2 shots on-goal.

Yannic Horn (5-8-1) picked up the win in the net with three saves. Brad Louis (3-4) faced two shots on-goal without a save.

With already a place in the Gulf South Conference tournament secured, West Alabama men's soccer has only one regular season game left. The Tigers will return to conference play to take on Alabama Huntsville on Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
