West Alabama is 7-3 overall and 3-3 in Gulf South Conference play after a 14-13 win over Mississippi College last week.

A LOT AT STAKE
West Alabama is playing for its playoff life, while North Alabama is No. 2 in the NCAA Super Region 2 poll and is playing for at least a share of the Gulf South Conference championship.

LAST MEETING BETWEEN UWA AND THE LIONS
North Alabama did just enough to hold off a pesky West Alabama football team on the way to a 24-16 victory over UWA in 2014, spoiling senior night at Tiger Stadium. UWA racked up 453 total yards while limiting the Lions to 326, but even that and a 34-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Caldwell to Daryl Collins on the game's final play weren't enough for the Tigers.

RETURNING PLAYMAKERS FROM LAST YEAR'S GAME
  • Defensive end DeQuante Shockley led UWA tacklers with eight, including three for loss. Brandon Lilly contributed seven and Duke Leland broke up two passes.
  • UNA quarterback Luke Wingo was 9-for-15 for 150 yards. Lamonte Thompson finished with 77 yards on 23 carries and Diamond Simmons 73 yards on seven trips.

TIGERS IN FLORENCE
The are 6-31 against UNA in Florence.

TIGERS BACK IN SUPER REGION 2 POLL
UWA moved back into the region poll this week at No. 10. The top seven teams at the end of the season will earn a berth in the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs.
