SAINT LEO, Fla. – Florida Tech women's soccer combined for four goals on the day, defeating West Alabama 4-0 at the Saint Leo Soccer Field on Sunday.
The Tigers fall to 2-2 on the season, while the Panthers improve to 4-0.
Taylor Eller opened up the scoring for FIT in the 7
th minute on an assist from Ciera Miser, giving the Panthers an early 1-0 advantage.
The Panthers increased their lead to 2-0 in the 36
th minute, finding the net for the second time in the first half on an unassisted goal from Eva Banton. Banton's goal came on her only shot of the match.
Maria Munoz posted her first goal of the season, putting FIT ahead 3-0 on an assist from Aubri Williamson in the 71
st minute.
Williamson scored one of her own to put FIT on top 4-0, netting the final goal of the match in the 82
nd minute.
Karlyn Prisco (4-0) earns the win, making five saves on seven shots faced to record her second shutout of the year.
Issy Foster (2-2) made five saves in the loss, allowing four goals on 16 shots faced.
The Tigers will open Gulf South Conference action, taking on West Georgia in their home-opener on Sept. 16. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
