Women's Soccer claims 2-0 win over Montevallo

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Two goals were all the West Alabama Tigers needed to claim an important Gulf South Conference road victory over the Montevallo Falcons Sunday afternoon.

UWA improves to 4-6 overall and 3-5 in GSC competition while Montevallo falls to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

"Outstanding team performance. Really proud of the shutout," said Head coach Graeme Orr. "The experienced players helped out the young ones and worked extremely hard."

Marie Dreezen scored on a penalty kick at the 42:22 mark to put the Tigers on the board. Then with 76:45 passed, Brianna Forrest scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Ellie McKenzie to put UWA ahead 2-0 for the winning edge.
