LIVINGSTON, Ala. – A five-run fourth inning ultimately lifted Lee University to a 10-0 Gulf South Conference softball victory over West Alabama, taking the series two games to one at the UWA Softball Complex on Sunday.

"We didn't do anything well," UWA head coach Carie Dever-Boaz said. "We didn't hit well, and we didn't catch and throw well. [
Andrea Edmonds] threw a lot of pitches yesterday, and Shay (Borowiak) came in a did a pretty good job.
"I just think we were mentally weak today. We need to figure out the metal side of this game, so it's back to the drawing board to get ourselves prepared for the next game."
Lee jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, capitalizing on a bases-loaded situation as Stevie Baird walked in Taylor Moran, who singled to lead-off the inning.
The Lady Flames pushed their advantage to 3-0 in third as Leigh Beatenbough hammered a two-run shot over left field.

"It's not who we are playing; it's us versus ourselves out there," Dever-Boaz said. "We have been short-handed for weeks, but at this point in the season you have to be able to push through it both physically and mentally.
"This team has grown a lot since opening weekend, but we still have a long way to go."
Lee's Frazier led all batters with three hits and three runs-batted-in. Kayla Louie posted a pair of hits, while Freiling, Moran and Beatenbough each contributed a hit in the win.
