Nominations Open for UWA Athletic Hall of Fame

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Nominations are open for the 2017 University of West Alabama Athletics Hall of Fame. Anyone may nominate a candidate for the Hall.

The purpose of the UWA Athletic Hall of Fame is to ensure the history and tradition of the University of West Alabama is celebrated and recognized in a manner that enhances the university's reputation. A minimum of two and a max of five inductees shall be selected each year.

The University of West Alabama Athletic Hall of Fame was founded in 1981 to honor former student-athletes, coaches, students and administrators who have honored UWA with outstanding play, coaching or leadership, both while on campus here and in their careers.

Once an individual is nominated, that nomination will be considered for up to five years. If the individual is not selected after five years, he/she may be nominated again.

Former UWA student-athletes, nominated for their outstanding achievements during their playing career at The University of West Alabama, are eligible five years following the end of their playing career.Coaches and administrators are eligible five years after their tenure as a coach or after 10 years of being on staff at The University of West Alabama.
