Second Half Surge Spells Doom for Tigers against Argos

PENSACOLA, Fla. — The West Alabama Tigers took a 1-0 lead early, but the West Florida Argonauts used three goals in the second half to grab a 3-1 victory in Gulf South Conference Women's Soccer action Friday night.
 
UWA falls to 8-4-1 on the season and 6-3-0 in the GSC. UWF is now 13-0 and 9-0 in the conference. 
 
TeMia Pride scored her 14th goal on the season with an assist from Ellie McKenzie at the 4:41 mark to give UWA the early 1-0 lead which lasted until the half.
 
However, goals from Peyton Peffers, Grace Busby and Kendall Bobbitt in the second half vaulted the Argos to victory.
 
Tabitha Weldon suffered her first loss in the net in conference play this season and finished the match with seven saves.
 
West Alabama returns to action Sunday at 1 p.m. with a GSC match against Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala.
