Tigers Roar Through Shorter in Four Sets

ROME, Ga.– Three West Alabama Tigers finished with double-doubles in the contest as UWA dispatched of the Shorter Hawks Friday evening in Gulf South Conference Volleyball action.
 
UWA improves to 16-5 overall and 9-2 in the GSC. Shorter falls to 7-10 on the season and 4-6 in the conference. 
 
Shorter won the first set 29-27 while the Tigers took the remaining three 25-14, 25-21 and 29-27.
 
Madison Cooler led with 23 kills and 13 digs while Jessica Akiona was right behind her with 21 kills and 12 digs. Taylor Donato also racked up double digit kills with 12 and posted 10 digs.
 
Kassie Till was once against electric in keeping the offense moving with 58 assists.
 
Alex Fuelling led the team with 29 digs while Jaime Lancellot and Cooler tied for the team lead with three blocks.
 
As a unit, the Tigers combined for a .327 attack percentage.
 
West Alabama returns to action tomorrow against the Lee Flames in Cleveland, Tennessee. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. CDT.
