UWA Volleyball Opponents Named for GSC/SSC Crossover

ORLANDO, Fla.– The West Alabama Volleyball team will take a weekend away from conference play for the annual Gulf South Conference/Sunshine State Conference South Region Crossover event taking place on the campus of Rollins College.
 
"We are definitely excited for the opportunity we have this weekend," said Head coach Alexis Meeks." We are in one of the toughest regions in the country and the Sunshine State Conference is very talented with a lot of experience. This is a great weekend for us to keep growing as a team and work towards goals we have set for the end of the year. We aren't blind of the fact that this is the toughest weekend of the year for us, but I know our kids are going to come out and battle as hard as they can. It's what our program does."
 
The weekend starts with a matchup against #18 Palm Beach Atlantic on Oct. 19 scheduled for a 3:45 p.m. CDT start. The Sailfish are currently 19-3 overall and 11-3 in the SSC. 
 
On Saturday, Oct. 20, UWA will face the Lynn University Fighting Knights (11-10, 5-9) at 11:15 a.m. CDT and wrap the two-day tournament at 6 p.m. against the Barry Buccaneers (20-2, 12-2).
 
West Alabama enters the weekend 17-5 overall and 10-2 in the conference which is currently the second-best mark.
