Tiger Women Headed to Texas for Two

After picking up its first win of the 2017-18 season in the home opener over Fort Valley State on Tuesday, the University of West Alabama women's basketball team returns to the road this weekend for a pair of games.
 
The Tigers travel to the Hilton Garden Inn Pioneer Classic hosted by Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas for games on Saturday and Sunday. UWA plays Texas Women's University Saturday at 4 p.m. and then meets Angelo State at 2 p.m. Sunday. Both games will be played at the Kitty Magee Arena. Oklahoma Christian is also in the field but will not play UWA.
 
West Alabama is 1-2 after demolishing Fort Valley State, 95-59. Kierra Groce and Tazsa Garrett-Hammett both scored 18 points in the Tiger victory.
 
TWU is 0-2 coming into the weekend. Angelo State will open its season Saturday against Oklahoma Christian prior to the UWA-TWU game.

Tickets will be available for purchase at the Kitty Magee Arena doors 90 minutes prior to the start of the first game on each day. There are no online or advance ticket sales. Single day tickets are $7 and children 12 and under are admitted free.
