THE SERIES
This is the fourth meeting between the Tigers and the Argonauts. West Alabama leads 2-1.
 
WEST ALABAMA
West Alabama is 7-3 overall, 4-3 in GSC play after beating Mississippi College on the road last week.
 
WEST FLORIDA
West Florida is 6-4 overall, 4-3 in league play after losing to Valdosta State last week.
 
THE COACHES
Brett Gilliland is 36-20 in his fifth season at UWA, his fifth as a head coach. Pete Shinnick is 22-14 in his third year at UWF, 125-60 in his 17th year as a college head coach.

UWA and UWF have the same results against five common opponents, having both won against Shorter, Mississippi College and Delta State. Both the Tigers and Argos lost to Valdosta State and West Georgia. UWA beat Florida Tech and UWF lost to the Panthers, FIT beat North Greenville and UWA lost to them.

Tiger quarterback Harry Satterwhite moved past his head coach Brett Gilliland into third place on the all-time Tiger passing list with 168 yards last week at Mississippi College. The senior from Mobile, Alabama now has 6,729 passing yards. Satterwhite needs 306 yards to move past Deon Williams, the current UWA running backs coach, into second place.
 
PUNTING ZACH
Tiger punter Zach Gaines is averaging 42.50 yards over 125 career punts to put him first on that all-time list. He has punted for 5,313 yards, good for second all-time at UWA. Chris Hilliker (88-91) punted for 11,213 yards to lead that category.
ONE IN THREE
The UWA offensive line has allowed just one quarterback sack in the last three games and just 13 on the season, good enough for fourth in the Gulf South Conference.
 
GOING FOR IT
West Alabama leads the GS in fourth-down conversions at 80 parent. The Tigers have converted 8-of-10 tries.
