UWA Drops Two in Second Day of South/Southeast Crossover

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A team full of newcomers still finding their identity, the West Alabama Tiger' softball team dropped a pair of games on the second day of the South/Southeast Region Crossover mini-tournament hosted by Flagler College during the course of Saturday's action.;
 
UWA now stands at 3-7 after falling to the hosts Flagler College Saints 2-0 in the morning contest and then dropping the afternoon matchup 2-0 to the Embry-Riddle Eagles.

Carleigh Mills took the loss for the Tigers, allowing two runs on seven hits in her 5.1 innings of work. Freshman Kamree Lay came in relief, allowing no hits in .2 innings of work.
 
The Tigers collected four hits, coming from Jenna Goldsmith, Averi Pender, Bree Thompson, and Nicole Buccieri.
 
UWA tallied three errors while Flagler committed two.
 
Embry-Riddle 2, West Alabama 0
 
Andrea Edmonds pitched 5.0 innings, allowing the only two runs to score on five hits. Only one run was earned. Kamree Lay pitched one inning and allowed only one hit.
 
The Tigers collected six hits and three errors. The hits came from Abby McKee, Jenna Goldsmith, Nicole Buccieri, Chrissy Tubbs, Haylie Best, and Hayes Fulford.
 
UWA's offense was unable to come alive after giving up a run in the third inning and a run in the fourth inning.
