Tigers Drop Heartbreaker to UNA on the Road, 67-66

FLORENCE, Ala. – The West Alabama Tigers fought to the very end, but a three-pointer by Kendarius Smith with .5 seconds left provided the difference to lift the North Alabama Lions to a 67-66 victory Thursday night in Flowers Hall in Gulf South Conference Men's Basketball action.
 
The Tigers seemingly had the game won up 66-64 with 14 seconds left after a free-throw from Jake Jobling. UNA brought the ball up the court and UWA almost forced a turnover, but Smith came away from a scrum off the floor and hit the fade-away three for the win.
 
West Alabama forced 10 turnovers, including four steals, and blocked five shots while limiting the Lions to 39 percent shooting from the field.
 
Josh Fleming led all scorers with 25 points and added six rebounds. Domonique Alexander scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds, blocked three shots, and dished two assists in his final game as a Tiger. Gavin Robinson led UWA with eight rebounds as the senior wrapped his is career in Livingston as well.
 
Kendall Stafford led the Lions with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Trenton Clayton scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds and Smith added 12 points along with six rebounds and three assists.
