GILLILAND SET TO BECOME UWA WINNINGEST COACH
UWA head coach Brett Gilliland is currently tied with Frank North atop the all-time Tigers head coaching win list. In his fifth season, Gilliland has 31 victories. North won 31 from 1979-84. Below are the top three on the list:

FIRST ON THE ROAD
The trip to Limestone is the first road game for UWA this season. The Tigers are 14-9 on the road under head coach Brett Gilliland. UWA is on the road three straight weeks beginning with the trip to Limestone.
 
HARRY CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Tiger quarterback Harry Satterwhite sits in fourth place on the all-time UWA passing yards list with 5,550. He is just the fifth quarterback in UWA history to pass for more than 5,000 yards and is third all-time with 50 TD passes.

FIRST ONE
Tiger backup quarterback and redshirt freshman Jacob Murphree picked up his first career touchdown pass, a 25-yard hookup with Bayley Blanchard, in the second quarter against Valdosta State.
 
GAINES A WEAPON
A preseason All-GSC choice, Tiger punter Zach Gaines plays a vital role in UWA's success. Averaging 43.2 yards per punt, he has three punts of 50+ yards and has dropped eight inside the opponent's 20 yard line.
 
SAULSBERRY ON TOP
Tiger receiver and kick returner Christian Saulsberry leads the GSC In all-purpose yards with 502, 167.3 per game. Of the 502 yards, 326 are on kickoff returns.
 
SATTERWHITE OUT FRONT
UWA quarterback Harry Satterwhite leads the GSC in pass completions (70), attempts (123) and completions per game (23.3) for QBs with three games played.

West Alabama has four of the top 10 receivers in the GSC with tight end Qua Boyd leading the league in receptions (20), receptions per game (6.7), receiving yards (259) and receiving yards per game (86.3). Also among the top 10 are Bayley Blanchard, Christian Saulsberry and Dominique McNealey.
 
PILING UP THE MILES
There is a price to pay for opening the season with three home games like UWA did. Over the next three weeks the Tigers will log 2,193 miles on the buses on round trips to Gaffney and Tigerville, South Carolina and Rome, Georgia to play Limestone, North Greenville and Shorter.
