Komani Scores Two, Tigers Win 4-0 over Albany State

ALBANY, Ga.– The West Alabama Tigers took to the road and handled business with a 4-0 win in women's soccer action over the Albany State Golden Rams Sunday afternoon, led by two goals from midfielder Anele Komani.
 
"Delighted to go on the road and win by four goals," said Head coach Graeme Orr.  "Sets us up now for conference play. Will review the film and look to improve against two quality opponents next week."
 
Komani scored the first two goals of the contest with the first coming at the 34:19 mark and the second at the 50:23 mark off an assist from Alina Kosusen.
 
Megan MeGettigan played a role in the next two goals, scoring her second of the year at the 62:36 mark off an assist from Emily Porteous and then assisting on a goal scored by TeMia Pride, fourth of the year, at the 77:33 mark to meet the 4-0 final score.
 
UWA outshot ASU 26-10 and going 16-7 with the shots on goal advantage.
 
West Alabama returns to action Friday night in Tiger Stadium against Mississippi College in Gulf South Conference action with the contest set to begin at 6 p.m. Links to live stats and Tiger Vision Live Video will be available on uwaathletics.com.
