Tigers Fall to USA in Women’s Tennis Exhibition

MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama kept its record perfect by defeating West Alabama, 6-1, Wednesday in women's tennis at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.
 
The Jaguars improved to 7-0. The match was an exhibition for West Alabama, who sits at 1-1.
 
"It was a tough match against a very good team," UWA head coach Jeff Beaman said. "We had some chances to take the doubles point and the momentum, plus some ups and downs in singles. We will take some things to work on out of this and move forward."
 
West Alabama's lone victory came at No. 2 singles where freshman Sarah Manseri defeated Leslie Soto 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7). In addition to five singles victories, the Jaguars also won all three doubles matches.
 
West Alabama returns to action Sunday in a match against Florida Southern that will be played on the campus of the University of West Florida in Pensacola. South Alabama will host North Alabama Thursday.
