AUM Claims GSC Series with Win over UWA Softball

LIVINGSTON, Ala.– The Auburn Montgomery Warhawks scored in bunches to claim 9-1 victory over the West Alabama Tigers Saturday afternoon and win the Gulf South Conference Softball series at the UWA Softball Complex.
 
Turning Point
AUM's Caroline Burns did the heavy lifting for the Warhawks with five RBIs coming off home runs in the second and third innings as part of a 3-for-3 effort at the plate.
 
Highlights from the Box Score
Mckinley Parris, Nicole Buccieri and Alli Craft all grabbed a hit for the Tigers. Craft had the lone RBI that drove in Shay Shepherd, who was pinch running for Parris.
Kendall Johnson made the most of being walk and grabbed her fifth stolen base to tie for the team lead.

West Alabama hits the road for a doubleheader against Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. First pitch there is set for 1 p.m. On Feb. 23, the Tigers will host Lee University for a GSC Doubleheader scheduled for a 12 p.m. start at the UWA Softball Complex.
