UWA Handles CACC in Women’s Tennis

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama evened its record to 1-1 by cruising past Central Alabama Community College, 7-0, Wednesday at the Vaughan Tennis Complex.
 
The Tigers won every singles match in straight sets after taking the doubles points with wins at No. 1 and 2. CACC did not enter a doubles team at No. 3.
 
Georgina Salom and Andrea Tomassone defeated Morgan Bishop and Olivia Hayes, 6-1, in No. 1 doubles. Daryna Hukasian and Liliana Araucz beat Kristina Iaboone and Sarah Rushing, 6-2, at No. 2.
 
Hukasian defeated Bishop 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Sarah Manseri defeated Hayes  6-2, 6-1 at No. 2. Salom was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Iaboone at No. 3 singles, Tomassone crushed Rushing 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and Liliana Araucz easily took care of Monica Almazar 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5. CACC did not enter a player at No. 6 singles.
 
West Alabama plays a final exhibition Feb. 13 at South Alabama. First serve is at 2 p.m.
