Tiger Men’s Tennis Wins Third Straight

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Noah Johansen's win a No. 6 singles clinched West Alabama's third straight victory in men's tennis as the Tigers slipped by Delta State, 4-3, Saturday at the Vaughan Tennis Complex.
 
No. 23 West Alabama improved its record to 8-2 overall, 3-1 in GSC play with the win. Delta State dipped to 6-2 and 2-1.
 
The Statesmen won the doubles point and Emile Le Terrier won at No. 1 singles to stake DSU to a 2-0 advantage. Ilia Dehoduik, Ilari Vesanen, Erik Nordblom and Johansen took their singles matches in order to put the match away for the Tigers.
 
Leo De Sousa was the only other singles winner for Delta State at No. 4.
 
"The men ran into a very tough Delta State team and it came down to the wire for the win," UWA head coach Jeff Beaman said. "Things don't get any easier with a 14-2 Southern Arkansas team coming on campus Monday."
 
The Muleriders visit West Alabama Monday. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. Admission to the match is free.
